Locked out in Bed-Stuy? The line is answered now
Apartment, brownstone, storefront or car. You call, we tell you honestly how far away we are, and on arrival you get one price before any tool comes out.
24/7 lockout service · Greene Ave baseIntercoms & buzzers for Bed-Stuy buildings
A divided brownstone lives or dies by its buzzer. We trace the fault from the street panel to the unit upstairs and replace only the part that actually failed.
Repair · replace · video upgradeSecurity systems, keypads & fob entry
When keys keep getting copied, a code or a fob is the cleaner answer. You can cut off one person without touching anyone else, and you stop re-cutting keys every time a roommate changes.
Keypad · fob · electric strike · reinforced doorsRekeying & lock changes
A rekey makes every old key stop working and in most cases you keep the locks you have. It is the cheapest piece of security a new tenant or owner can buy.
Rekey · lock change · master key · key control24/7 lockouts
Locked out of a brownstone, an apartment, a shop or a car. Answered at any hour from Greene Ave.
Full page →We open the door with the least invasive method first. If a cylinder is seized or someone already drilled it, we tell you before any drilling happens and replace it on the same visit. Once you are in, the lock can be rekeyed right then so a lost set of keys stops being a problem.
- Brownstone street doors, apartment doors, gates and storefronts
- Non-destructive entry tried first
- Damaged cylinders replaced on the spot
- ID or proof of residence checked on arrival
Rekeying & lock changes
New apartment, tenant moved out, keys lost, or a set a contractor never returned.
Full page →Rekeying changes which key works without replacing the lock, which makes it the cheapest security upgrade there is when the hardware is still good. We set several doors to one key, or give each unit its own with a single owner key, and cut the new keys on site.
- Rekey after a move, a closing or a tenant leaving
- One key for several doors, or separate keys plus an owner key
- Deadbolt and knob replacement in a matching finish
- New keys cut on site
Master key systems
One key for the owner, one per tenant, and a chart that makes the next change easy.
Full page →A divided brownstone is the classic case: street door, vestibule, basement and four unit doors. A master key system lets the owner open all of them while each tenant opens only theirs. We design it on paper first, pin the locks to match, and leave room to add a door later without redoing the house.
- Two-family houses up to small apartment buildings
- Common doors, unit doors, basement and roof access
- Written chart of which key opens which door
- Built to extend, not to redo
Intercom & buzzer systems
Panels, handsets and door releases for brownstones, walk-ups and small apartment buildings.
Full page →The buzzer is the part of a building everyone touches every day, and it is usually the first thing to fail. We repair single lines, replace panels that have died, swap handsets inside apartments and upgrade to video where it makes sense. The wiring and the door release get checked before anyone is quoted a new system.
- Audio and video entry panels, handsets and monitors
- Door release strikes and magnetic locks
- Existing wiring reused where it is sound
- Brownstones and walk-ups as well as larger lobbies
Buzzer repair
One apartment not ringing, the street door not releasing, or the whole panel silent.
Full page →Buzzers fail one line at a time. We test the panel button, the run to the apartment, the unit inside and the release at the door, in that order, and replace only the part that stopped working. Old panels that cannot be saved get swapped while the building's wiring stays.
- Single-apartment and whole-building faults
- Vestibule door release and strike repair
- Panel replacement without re-running every wire
- Written note of what was fixed
Security systems & access control
Keypad, fob and card entry for buildings, shops and offices, with the door built to hold.
Full page →Keys get copied. A keypad or fob lets you cancel one person without touching anyone else. We install readers, controllers and electric strikes, enroll the first fobs, and set the door to hold, release or relock the way you need. Where a frame has been forced before, we reinforce it first so the electronics sit on a door that can take it.
- Keypad locks, fob readers and card readers
- Electric strikes, magnetic locks and exit buttons
- Frame and strike reinforcement
- Repair of systems other installers left behind
The point of a high-security cylinder is control over who can duplicate the key. Blanks are restricted and copies need the registered owner's sign-off, which matters on a shared street door that a dozen people and three contractors have had keys to. They also resist picking, bumping and drilling far better than standard cylinders.
- Restricted keyways and registered key cards
- Resistance to picking, bumping and drilling
- Retrofits into most existing doors and mortise cases
- Clear record of who may order copies
Door repair & frame reinforcement
Doors that stick, frames that were kicked, strike plates that no longer hold.
Full page →A good lock on a weak door does not help. After a break-in attempt or decades of use, we repair splintered frames, reinforce the strike area, fit long-screw strikes and replace worn latches and closers. On landmark doors the reinforcement goes inside, so the street side stays the way it was.
- Frame and strike repair after forced entry
- Reinforcement plates and long-screw strikes
- Latch, hinge and closer adjustments
- Historic doors reinforced without changing the look
Commercial locks & storefront gates
Shops on Fulton, Nostrand and Bedford, offices, studios and roll gates.
Full page →Storefront doors take more abuse than a house door, so the hardware has to be rated for it. We service storefront locks, roll-gate and padlock cylinders, panic bars and door closers, and rekey when staff change. For owners who want to know who holds keys, we set up key control with a simple chart.
- Storefront and office door locks
- Roll gate and padlock cylinders
- Panic bars, exit devices and closers
- Rekey after staff or tenant changes
Car keys & car lockouts
Cars opened with the keys inside, and keys cut and programmed where the vehicle allows.
Full page →A simple lockout is opened without damage. For lost keys we cut and program a replacement when the make supports it. Some vehicles need equipment we do not carry, so we ask for the year, make and model on the phone and tell you up front what is possible.
- Car lockouts
- Replacement keys cut on site
- Key and fob programming where supported
- Year, make and model checked before we come
A forgotten combination or a dead keypad does not have to mean a destroyed safe. We open the common home and office types, service the lock and reset the combination. We ask for proof of ownership first, because we open safes for their owners only.
- Opening and servicing home and office safes
- Combination and keypad resets
- Proof of ownership required
- Advice on which safe fits what you keep
