What happens when you call
Tell us the address and what kind of door it is: a brownstone street door, an apartment inside, a roll gate, a car. We give an honest arrival estimate, not a number we cannot keep. On arrival we ask for ID that matches the address, a lease, or a super or neighbor who can vouch for you. Then you hear the price, and nothing starts until you say yes.
Opened without damage first
Most doors around here can be opened without hurting the lock, and that is always the first thing we try. The exceptions are cylinders that have seized, been drilled by someone else, or were cheap to begin with. If drilling is the only way in, we say so before we do it and replace the cylinder on the same visit so you are not sleeping behind an open hole.
Same visit: make it not happen again
If the keys are gone, rekey the lock before we leave so the old keys stop working. If the lock was the problem, we repair or swap it right then. One visit, one price, and you are not calling again tomorrow.
